The DARPA High Performance Knowledge Bases Programme
نویسنده
چکیده
The HPKB programme aims to enable the development of very large knowledge bases which are comprehensive, reusable, maintainable, and address areas of interest to DARPA. These knowledge bases are expected to require foundation knowledge, knowledge acquisition facilities, and efficient problem solving techniques. The programme encourages development of multiple applications which will be tested against ”challenge problems” at the end of each year of the programme.

Practical Knowledge Representation and the DARPA High Performance Knowledge Bases Project
We address the experiences of the DARPA High Performance Knowledge Bases (HPKB) (Cohen et al., 1998) project in practical knowledge representation. The purpose of the HPKB project was to develop new techniques for rapid development of knowledge bases. The goal of this paper is to describe several technical issues that arose in creation of practical KB content.

متن کاملOntology Development for Military Applications
In order for Artificial Intelligence (AI) to become truly useful in high−level military applications it is necessary to identify, document, and integrate into automated systems the human knowledge that senior military professionals use to solve high−level problems. The skeletal structure for this work is provided through the development of an ontology. This paper presents brief overviews first ...
متن کاملHigh Performance Knowledge Bases: four approaches to knowledge acquisition, representation and reasoning for workaround planning
As part of the DARPA-sponsored High Performance Knowledge Bases program, four organisations were set the challenge of solving a selection of knowledge-based planning problems in a particular domain, and then modifying their systems quickly to solve further problems in the same domain. The aim of the exercise was to test the claim that, with the latest AI technology, large knowledge bases can be...
متن کاملAlert correlation and prediction using data mining and HMM
Intrusion Detection Systems (IDSs) are security tools widely used in computer networks. While they seem to be promising technologies, they pose some serious drawbacks: When utilized in large and high traffic networks, IDSs generate high volumes of low-level alerts which are hardly manageable. Accordingly, there emerged a recent track of security research, focused on alert correlation, which ext...
